Understanding Review Category Flows
The capability to assign the right category to each transaction does not stop in the transaction creation process only. Even after Drafter created the transaction, some eligible people within your organization can review and adjust the category field in each transaction, to ensure it’s correctly input. This is all to ensure that all transactions are categorized right within the scope of your company policy, hence fostering the right decision making. You can easily manage these categories through the Jack portal or app..
Reviewing categories is the backbone of maintaining precise financial records. It ensures that your company stays within its expense policy, giving you greater control over your company’s spending. By regularly reviewing categories, you can prevent overspending on items that fall outside your company's guidelines. This capability comes to life at two critical points. Firstly, as transactions await approval, scrutinizing their categories prevents any policy breaches before funds are disbursed. Secondly, after sending transactions, a quick category check ensures precision. By making sure every transaction aligns with its designated category, you further protect your financial foundation.
Review Category in the Approval Flow
In this flow, only the assigned Approvers and Releaser have the privilege to review and modify the category in the transaction. This is a critical step in ensuring that your financial records are accurate before the Releaser releases the payments. You can review and adjust categories in both Jack Portal and Jack App. See how you can review and edit category for these products:
Review Category after Transaction is Successful
For post-transactions, a broader group of users can change transaction categories, including Business Owners, Admins, Bookkeepers, and Employees. However, it's worth noting that Employees can only review and modify the categories of their own Card transactions. Efficient management of financial operations hinges on gaining a clear overview of your transactions. Jack's user-friendly interface provides three primary pages for reviewing categories: the Transactions Page, Tasks Page, or Corporate Cards Page, and you can do it in both Jack Portal and Jack App. Here’s how:
Transactions Page
Login to your Jack Portal, then click the Transactions page located at the sidebar on the left of the screen.
Look out for a distinctive yellow icon positioned on the left side of each transaction row. This icon serves as a visual signal, indicating transactions that may lack essential details, such as categories. Click on the transaction you want to review or input the category. Besides that, you can also review and change the category of the transaction without the missing details icon.
The modal of the transaction will appear. Click the Transaction Category field.
Choose which category suits the transaction. Read the description below to assign the right category.
The Missing Details icon will not appear again if the transaction has been assigned with category information.
