How to Create an International Transfer

Create an International Transfer in Jack Portal

Anyone who is assigned as a Drafter can create an International Transfer request from Jack Portal (not available in Jack App yet), which then will go through the approval workflow by Approver and Releaser. Drafter, Approver, and Releaser have been appointed since the beginning using the approval workflow (read here).


There are 8 steps to create an International Transfer in Jack Portal: 

  1. Log in to your Jack portal. Click the Create button located on the top right corner of Jack Portal, then select International Transfer

  1. Select the Single Transfer option (please note that Batch Transfer is currently not available).

  1. In this page, you can choose your destination country, destination currency, and enter the desired amount that you wish to pay in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) or to be received by your recipient in your destination country and currency or vice versa. Ensure that you do not make a transfer with an amount lower or higher than the limit set.

    Recipients will get the money that is already in their destination currency and has been deducted with the transfer fee.

  1. Choose the recipient type, either you want to send the money to a business/institution or an individual/personal and choose the desired settlement method from the available options: Local Network, SWIFT SHA, or SWIFT OUR (please note that SWIFT is currently only available for USD, CNH, and CHF transactions). For more information about the differences between Local Network and SWIFT Network, you can read it here. Then, click Next to continue.

Selecting a certain recipient type will affect different required data fields that you need to fill in the Recipient Details. Thus, make sure that you have chosen the right type of your recipient to ensure a smooth transaction.


  1. Fill the recipient details. You can Add New Recipient or Choose from this recipient list option. If you click Add New Recipient button, you will be redirected to fill the recipient information in details, such as: business name, country, email, phone number, and their bank details. After choosing the recipient, then click Next.

  1. Fill in the additional information details. It is essential to select the appropriate purpose of remittance, accurately indicate the source of funds, specify the beneficiary relationship, and include the document reference number as proof for your transaction. Finally, click Next to continue.

    To ensure the integrity of your transaction, don’t forget to check the checkbox confirming that the provided information is true and correct, providing an added layer of security and accuracy in the International Transfer process.


  1. Before submitting your request, carefully review all the transaction details, recipient information, and additional information. You cannot edit or make any further changes once it’s submitted. Check it again for the last time, then click Submit.

  1. Congrats! Your International Transfer request has been submitted successfully. Wait a while for Approvers and Releasers to review your requests. Monitor your transaction status in Jack Portal or Jack App by clicking on the Transactions menu (for easier tracking, filter Type = International Transfer).


Keep in mind that upon submission, your transaction will undergo a review by an Approver and Releaser who will verify the transaction, once approved, the transaction will be disbursed to the recipient.


How to Review an International Transfer as an Approver

After Drafter submitted the request, the transaction status will remain Pending Approval. It means there’s the action required from Approver and Releaser to approve and release the payment for that request. Approver, and Releaser have been appointed since the beginning using the approval workflow (read here). Approve or reject a transaction can be done easily via Jack Portal and Jack App.


Approve or Reject International Transfer in Jack Portal

3 easy steps to approve an International Transfer in Jack Portal: 

  1. Click the Task menu located on the left sidebar. Within this section, you will find the “Require Approval” section, which provides a list of transactions that need to be reviewed and approved by you as the approving authority. Select a transaction or several transactions (tick the box to select some) to start reviewing. In this article, we’ll only guide the approval process for one request, you can read here if you want to review several requests at once.

  1. A transaction details will pop up on your window, review it thoroughly. If you decide to reject a transaction, click the Reject button. you can fill in the reason for rejection before clicking the Reject Request button. This action can not be undone, be careful! 

    If the Approver chooses to reject the request, the request status will be updated to "Canceled."


  1. If you decide to approve a transaction, make sure the transaction details and the total amount is correct. Then, click the Approve button and you will be directed to a secured layer page where you can enter your PIN and Confirm your approval. 


The International Transfer request status will remain in "Pending Approval" until it is approved by the Releaser. Only then the transaction will be paid to the recipient, the request status will be updated to "Success."


Approve or Reject International Transfer in Jack App

  1. Open the Jack App, in the Home menu, you will be able to see the pending tasks, as well as alerts and attention items. Click on See all to view all pending tasks.

  1. Select Require Approval.

  1. Choose the International Transfer that you wish to review.

  1. You can see the details of the International Transfer, Decide whether to Approve or Reject it.

  1. If you choose to approve the International Transfer request, a confirmation slider will appear from the bottom of the screen, click Approve to confirm the International Transfer approval.

  1. Input your Jack PIN correctly.

  1. Congratulations! You have successfully approved the International Transfer request.

  1. However if you choose to reject the request, you will be prompted to fill in the rejection reason for the International Transfer. Click Reject to proceed to the next step.

  1. You have successfully rejected the International Transfer request.

    Approve or reject a transaction request can also be done via the Transactions menu by selecting the transaction you want to approve or reject, then do the similar approval process from there.


How to Review an International Transfer as a Releaser

After getting the approval from Approvers, the transaction status is still Pending Approval and the last step is getting the approval from Releasers. Releaser is a special type of Approver who possesses the authority to release funds for approved transactions, enabling the completion of the financial transaction. Release or Reject International Transfer in Jack Portal

5 easy steps to release a payment for an International Transfer in Jack Portal:

  1. Click the Task menu located on the left sidebar. Within this section, you will find the “Release Payment” section, which provides a list of transactions that need to be reviewed and approved by you as the approving authority. Select a transaction or several transactions (tick the box to select some) to start reviewing. In this article, we’ll only guide the approval process for one request, you can read here if you want to review several requests at once.

  1. A transaction details will pop up on your window, review it thoroughly. If you decide to reject the transaction, click the Reject button. Next, you can fill in the reason for rejection before clicking the Reject request button. This action can not be undone, be careful!.

    If the Releaser chooses to reject the request, the request status will be updated to "Canceled."

  1. If you decide to approve and pay the transaction (release the transaction), make sure the transaction details and the total amount is correct, then click the Approve & Pay button. You will be directed to a secure layer page to choose your payment method.

  1. When opting to pay with your company balance, our system will deduct the transaction amount from your company balance. If your company balance is insufficient, you can read how to top up your company balance here. If it’s already sufficient, click Pay, input your PIN, and Confirm. Your payment is successfully released.

  1. When choosing to pay with Bank Transfer, follow these steps:

    1. Select Bank Transfer, then, click Pay. After that, select the bank you want to use and transfer the displayed amount to the provided account on the page. Ensure that you transfer the correct total payment. If you have paid, click I have paid.

  1. Then, confirm your Source of Payment by choosing from an existing registered bank account or adding a new bank account.

  1. Upload the transfer receipt to validate the transaction (make sure the file size is lower than 10 MB and has PNG, JPG, or PDF format) and click Confirm.

  1. Our system will verify the transaction’s validity in seconds. If valid, we will proceed and disburse your money to the recipient smoothly.

    The International Transfer request status will be updated to "In Progress" and will be updated to "Success" when it is paid to the recipient according to the SLA.


Release or Reject International Transfer in Jack App

  1. Open the Jack App, in the Home menu, you will be able to see the pending tasks, as well as alerts and attention items. Click on See all to view all pending tasks.

  1. Select Release Payments.

  1. Choose the International Transfer that you wish to release.

  1. You can see the details of the International Transfer. Decide whether to Pay or not.

  1. If you choose to approve the International Transfer, a confirmation slider will appear from the bottom of the screen, then you can select the payment method you would like to use.

    1. Pay with Company Balance:  Ensure the total payment is correct because you can not edit the amount once released. If your company balance is insufficient, you can top up your balance first by following the guidelines here. After that, click Pay, enter your Jack PIN, and the payment will be released.

  1. Pay with Bank Transfer: Ensure the total payment is correct because you can not edit the amount once released. After that, click Pay, select the bank you want to use and transfer the displayed amount to the provided account on the page. If you have paid, do the transfer confirmation, similar to what you do above. Once done, we will proceed and disburse your money to the recipient smoothly.

  1. However if you choose to reject the request, you will be prompted to fill in the rejection reason for the International Transfer. Click Reject to finish the process.

  2. You have successfully rejected the release of international transfer.

    Release payment for a transaction request can also be done via the Transactions menu by selecting the transaction you want to approve or reject, then do the similar approval process from there.
