We offer two blocking methods for all card types (Virtual, Physical, or Prepaid Cards). Business Owners and Admins can practice these blockings for all cards in their company, Employees and Bookkeepers can only block their owned cards, and Team Managers can block off their team members’ cards. Let's dive into the details:
Temporary Block (Freeze)
Sometimes, you might misplace your card or suspect that it has been stolen. In such cases, a temporary block, also known as a freeze, can be a lifesaver. You can do it in both Jack Portal and App. Here's how it works:
Take action to hit the Temporary Block button inside Card Details page
You can find it by going to the Corporate Card menu in Jack Portal or click See All inside Home menu in Jack App. Click the card you wish to block. Click the drop down beside the Block button, then click Temporary Block.
Confirm your blocking
After thorough consideration, hit the Block Card button to confirm your action. You can reactivate it later on.
Input your user PIN
To initiate the freeze, you'll need to input your user PIN. This added security measure ensures that only authorized individuals can block the card, giving you peace of mind that your funds are protected. After inputting your PIN, the card will be temporarily blocked within seconds and the card status will turn to ‘Temporary Blocked’.
No transactions, but still have access to transaction history
Once your card is temporarily blocked, you won't be able to conduct any transactions using that card. However, you'll still have access to your card's transaction history, allowing you to review your previous activities and identify any unauthorized charges.Unblock the card
When you have located your card or resolved the issue, you can easily unfreeze it by clicking the Unblock Card button inside the Card details page. The process will take in seconds. Once done, your card will return to ‘Active’ status and you can continue using it for your business needs without any interruptions.
Permanent Block
In more severe cases where you no longer require the card, a permanent block might be necessary. You can do it in both Jack Portal and App. Here's what you can do:
Take action to hit the Permanent Block button inside Card Details page
You can find it by going to the Corporate Card menu in Jack Portal or click See All inside Home menu in Jack App. Click the card you wish to block. Click the drop down beside the Block button, then click Permanent Block.
Confirm your blocking
After thorough consideration, hit the Block Card button to confirm your action. This action cannot be undone, be careful!
Input your user PIN
Just like with a temporary block, initiating a permanent block requires you to input your user PIN. This ensures that the action is intentional and authorized, providing an additional layer of security. The card status will turn to ‘Permanently Blocked’ right after inputting your PIN.No transactions, but still have access to transaction history
Similar to a temporary block, a permanently blocked card will no longer be eligible for transactions. However, you can still access and review its transaction history. This allows you to track past expenses or activities, providing you with a comprehensive record for financial reporting purposes.Irreversible block
Unlike a temporary block that can be undone, a permanent block is irreversible. This means that once a card is permanently blocked, the card can not be used any longer. It's the ideal solution when you no longer require the card's services and want to ensure its complete deactivation. You can hit Remove Card to archive the card, and Delete the card later on (inside Archive tab).
